Inland Empire Mensa's award-winning monthly newsletter is named i.e.

Much more than a newsletter, IEM publishes original humor, poetry, puzzles, artwork, social commentary, National Mensa news, and information for our members. Our newsletter is also the main vehicle for communication between our members and the Executive Board of IEM. It serves as a forum for discussion, and a place for our members to post events and display their talents.

The official purpose of the newsletter is to publish a monthly calendar, a financial statement, and minutes from the Executive Board meetings. It is here to serve our membership. The i.e. staff strives to bring an entertaining and informative publication to our members every month. i.e. is proud to feature some of the best quality of content in American Mensa in our pages.

For several years running, our newsletter has been recognized with award nominations from American Mensa's annual Publication Recognition Program (the PRPs) for excellence in overall presentation, and for outstanding individual contributions from our multi-talented members. We are very proud to announce our newsletter won multiple individual awards as well as Best Newsletter Medium Group in 2009. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to view past issues of i.e.

Submission Information

Individual members are encouraged to submit articles, humor, poetry, artwork, and opinion pieces for publication. Original works provided by members of IEM will take precedence over other content. The Managing Editor reserves the right to edit for space and content where necessary. Content submissions and event information are due on the fifth day of the month for inclusion into the following month's issue. Copyrighting articles is not necessary, but is recommended. Whenever possible, please submit articles and letters as MS Word documents attached to email. Artwork may be submitted as jpg, tiff, bitmap, .psp or .pdf files. Submit to editor@iemensa.us.

Reprint Requests

i.e. is happy to grant reprint permission to other Mensa newsletters, providing the author approves. Anyone wishing to reprint material from i.e. must contact the Managing Editor at editor@iemensa.us. The Managing Editor will forward any requests to the author of the work requested.

Newsletter Staff

The Managing Editor is appointed by the IEM Executive Board. Newsletter staff positions are chosen by the Managing Editor. Currently those positions are Content Editor, Calendar Editor, Proof Readers, and Circulation Manager. There are no specified terms for these positions and they may change at the discretion of the Editor and/or the Executive Board of IEM.
